What is your motivation to be a DOCTOR on Social Media?
Social Media opened so many doors for me as a Pediatrician. I am really happy that I get to communicate with more people and share my knowledge about medicine, more-so about child health and care. With the pandemic taking over our lives, I made sure that health care for many kids (even their families) is still addressed, and finding the right partner to do so is important to achieve this.
What Baby Safety Month message would you like to give to all the parents who are navigating the pandemic right now?
This baby safety month, I would like to remind all parents that even if we got our jabs already, let us not put our guards down. Involve the entire family in practicing social measures and always be ready at home with first aid remedies. Our country is still in the fight to achieve immunity in this health crisis. Let us keep our adult selves safe so we can keep our children safe as well.

What is your motivation to be a DOCTOR on Social Media?
My motivation is knowing that nowadays, social media is one of the most powerful tools to communicate with people. Being a mom and a doctor, I see it as a channel to reach out, to educate and be educated as well. It's makes me happy to see that there are several online support groups for parents because we all need to help each other especially during this time of pandemic.
What Baby Safety Month message would you like to give to all the parents who are navigating the pandemic right now?
Being a parent alone is hard and the surge of COVID-19 has made it a lot harder. As moms, our priority would always be the health and safety of our family, especially our kids. During this pandemic, there's always this unsettling feeling that someone might get exposed or infected. So let's always make ourselves updated and stick with the latest health guidelines. It's important to stay at home as much as you can, wear masks and face shields properly, teach our children the importance of frequent hand washing and maintain social distancing at all times.
The pandemic not only affects physical but also the emotional health of everyone. So my message would be, you are not alone. Despite the pandemic, we all have to go on with our lives - work, take care our homes, look after our kids, etc. There will always be help and support out there, speciallly for moms like me. Don't hesitate to reach out. Let's all pray for this pandemic to end soon.

Twitter: @doktora_ging
What is your motivation to be a DOCTOR on Social Media?
I didn’t intend to teach on social media at the outset because I’m quite shy. I feared public speaking, but I had to get used to guesting in tele-radio shows and eventually FB lives because people were interested in learning about rheumatism and there were very few rheumatologists when we started. In fact my Facebook page was just created for me by another physician; I just woke up one day with a message that I am an admin of a page named after me. So I started posting. Later on I realized its power and reach when even OFWs would send feedback on how much the posts are helping them. And there is fulfillment knowing that I am able to extend myself further, not just to the people I see in the clinic and the students/trainees I teach, but way beyond, especially those who may not always have easy access to healthcare.
What Baby Safety Month message would you like to give to all the parents who are navigating the pandemic right now?
Please follow the advice of your pediatricians, and don’t forget to take care of yourself, too.
